He graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Education, and holds a Master\u2019s and Education Specialist degree from Idaho State University. <\/strong><\/p>\n He has been married to his wife, Jan Shirley, for forty-two years, and has five children and eighteen grandchildren. He began studying music in 1958 and has continued to play many different musical instruments to this day. He has participated in various musical groups for the past fifty years. He has used his musical talent throughout his career as a teacher and educator.
