The year was 1996, and my mother had no idea the challenges that lay ahead with her newborn son. We moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where my father took a job as a Research Engineer. My mother had her Masters in Education and started to teach. I grew up in Idaho Falls with my older sister Sarah, my younger sister Anna, and my baby brother Christopher. I had a very typical childhood.

I played Hockey, I tried baseball, my Dad coached my Soccer team, I was a Boy Scout, I played Grid-Kid Football, I was an Altar Boy, learned the guitar, and I loved to swim. I was very fortunate to have many friends and a very loving family. Life was good! Then…during my eighth-grade year, I began to change.

My parents, siblings, teachers, coaches, and principal noticed that I was not, “the old Logan”. My grades started to slip and teachers did not want to have me in their classes anymore. My Mom was terrified by the sudden change. My whole personality was different. She desperately sought out help and by the age of fifteen, I was diagnosed with severe Schizophrenia. I have never let my diagnosis DEFINE who I am or who I will be. I am now a college student and I cherish every moment of my life. I love to play guitar in a band and sing. I love to write poetry and express myself through this art. I especially love to hike in the outdoors and thank God for every day I have on this beautiful earth!

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=”Row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]
