Talk Summary: Life is full of challenges: both big and small. Wanting to overcome those challenges is one thing, actually working to overcome said challenges is quite another. Yet change is not nearly as difficult as it may seem. In fact, small changes made on a consistent, daily basis can lead to big improvements in overcoming our challenges—and there is some math to verify this notion The onus is on each of us to believe that our efforts will yield the results we want and then act in accordance with that belief.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Robins is deeply passionate about human triumph in the face of long odds and seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Having failed miserably and succeeded in various ventures in his personal life, his research interests are firmly rooted in how people encounter obstacles and problems and the strategies they resort to overcoming those challenges.
He is the faculty-director of the First-Year Freshmen Seminar Program at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he works to inspire self-confidence, wherewithal, and stick-to-itiveness in his students as they pursue their educational and career goals.
